6 - Fondi. From Terracina we stuck with the Via Appia as it turned inland, and
found ourselves in the town of Fondi. We had planned to find a campground here
- the Camping Guide indicated there were two - but once we arrived we discovered
that those were both back down on the coast. We didn't want to backtrack, so decided
to put off the decision about where to stay until after we'd at least paid a quick
visit to the town. As we arrived the church bells started ringing and we found
ourselves in narrow, mostly car-free streets. (We thought it an odd place for
a rent-a-car office...)
