11 - on the road from Rotondi to Capriglia Irpina, near Pannarano. We stopped
for a snack and to enjoy the view across the valley. We were heading for the town
of Capriglia Irpina, where Kris's great-grandmother was born, and we expected
to reach it this afternoon. We met several friendly folks on the ride. One was
an Italian-American on a racing bike. He lives in Kansas City but is planning
to build himself a house in Pannarano and live there half the year. He gave us
some good directions about ignoring a "do not enter" sign approaching
the town of Summonte up the road a ways, which turned out to be a good bit of
advice.
